The Texas A&M Football team’s schedule will begin to heat up
The next two games won’t be much more formidable opponents, but the Aggies will really have to prepare themselves in these games. After the two mentioned on this page, it’ll be tough sledding for the rest of the season. That said, these two teams could provide an early-season challenge for the Aggies.
Game 3, New Mexico Lobos: This may be the Aggies’ easiest opponent of the year. With Danny Gonzales entering his second season for the New Mexico Lobos, he’ll be looking to improve off of a 2-win season in the Mountain West Conference. Opposite the Colorado Buffaloes, New Mexico lost their first five games with a new head coach and finished on a 2-game winning streak. This is as much of a walk in the park as the Aggies will get, so expect a big win.
Prediction: Win, 3-0
Game 4, @ Arkansas Razorbacks: The Aggies will continue their non-conference schedule against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Okay, you caught me. Technically, Arkansas is in the SEC, but they have won fewer games with two more coaches than Texas A&M did in 2020. Things are a mess in Arlington, which is why the Aggies will march into town and take care of business. That said, this will be their first opponent from the Southeastern Conference, so we’ll get a glimpse of how this team performs against better opponents.
Prediction: Win, 4-0
