Texas A&M Football opponent No. 8: South Carolina Gamecocks

The games between Texas A&M and South Carolina have always been extremely competitive, with each one coming down to the wire. Last year’s game finished with a final score of… *checks notes* 48-3. Oh boy.

Okay, maybe this series hasn’t been very competitive since the Aggies have joined the SEC, but this could be a good game. You never know. Although, in this scenario, you sort of do know. It’s hard to see the Gamecocks keeping this one within a couple of touchdowns, as they have been run off of the field in every encounter with TAMU in the history of this series.

Since joining the SEC, the Aggies have defeated South Carolina every single time these two teams have faced off. That puts them at 7-0 against a football program that is pretty solid.

Aggies fans will be happy to know that this is as close to a guaranteed win as they’re going to get in SEC play. In their most successful season this century, the South Carolina Gamecocks had arguably their worst season this century.

The stars will be aligning for an Aggies squad that will look to run up their score to increase their College Football Playoff chances. This should be a comfortable win. The only question that remains is whether or not Jimbo Fisher’s offense looks good or not.

Prediction: Win, 7-1
