The Texas A&M Football team will have the best defense in college football

The argument could be made that the Texas A&M Football team had the best defense in college football in 2020. They were best by yardage in the SEC and near the top in the nation but had a couple of unfortunate outings that doomed them in the end.

In 2021, they’ll look to eliminate these big offensive performances from opposing teams. And with the talent that this team is returning, there’s no reason that this shouldn’t happen.

Texas A&M is returning the 18th-highest production from a year ago, with most of their losses coming on offense. The only key losses defensively are defensive tackle Bobby Brown III and linebacker Buddy Johnson, both of whom have capable players filling in.

The real determining factor for a successful season from this defense will be how they perform against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Historically, this defensive unit has struggled, but there hasn’t been a squad with this much experience since they joined the SEC.

If the Aggies want to win a national championship, it’ll start with a strong defense. Expect this unit to step up in a big way, even if the offense is unable to follow suit.
