The Texas A&M Football team will have no lack of returning talent in 2021. With most of the defense remaining intact and the offensive skill positions set to see improvements, the Aggies won’t have any worries about talent in the upcoming season.

But one area that could see some regression is in the leadership department.

While the losses were far and few for this team, a couple of the players that departed for the 2021 NFL Draft were big leaders for Jimbo Fisher. Notably, the team’s starting quarterback in Kellen Mond is no longer with the team, while a huge defensive leader in Buddy Johnson will also be playing at the next level.

As a result, the Aggies will look to new faces to step into leadership roles. Here are three Texas A&M Football players who can step up as leaders in 2021.

Texas A&M Football OL Kenyon Green will be the leader of the offensive line

Kenyon Green is arguably the most talented player on the entire Texas A&M Football team. As a junior, he’ll be sliding over to the tackle position after two years of being a starting guard. He’ll be the only returning starter on the offensive line.

That said, he has a lot to teach the four other guys who will be filling in beside him. As a consensus All-American in 2020, there isn’t a better player to teach his counterparts how to be an offensive lineman at the SEC level. If his play is any indication of how this team is going to perform, the Aggies are in good hands.

Whether or not he takes on a leadership role could determine the overall performance of this extremely young offensive line. If this doesn’t happen, a great defense could go to waste with a bad offense.
