6th-year Texas A&M Football linebacker Aaron Hansford will bring senior leadership

Aaron Hansford might be close to a senior citizen than a normal college senior. On a serious note, Hansford is a graduate student who could have departed for the 2021 NFL Draft. Instead, he decided to return to College Station to try and boost his draft stock.

Hansford will be entering his 6th year in College Station. After injuries plagued his career early on, he wouldn’t really settle in until he was an upperclassman. That said, he is the most experienced player on this team, having played on both sides of the ball.

Even though he may not have the sheer talent that Kenyon Green or Jalen Wydermyer have, he knows the game better than anyone. He’ll be huge in educating the team on assignments, keeping everybody organized, and acting as a coach on the field.

If there is a quality that Hansford possesses that will get him drafted, it could be leadership. We’ll see if he decides to step knee-deep into this role in 2021. If so, the Aggies defense will be much better off to repeat as the SEC’s best unit.
