Texas A&M Football Mike LB Andre White Jr. could shoot to the top of the tackles list

A player that will benefit from some of the departures from the Texas A&M Football team is Andre White Jr., who was at the 3rd spot on the depth chart for most of the 2020 season. White is a junior who has played a couple of solid seasons once he earned playing time.

When he was recruited by Texas A&M, White was a relatively under-the-radar recruit. The inside linebacker was a 4-star prospect, but he wasn’t thought of as a top-15 inside linebacker in the country. That said, he always had the athleticism and knack for the game to succeed, so it was only a matter of time for him.

After riding the bench for a few years, he’ll get a chance to step into the spotlight in 2021 with the departure of Buddy Johnson. White should get the start at Mike linebacker, a position that often leads the team in tackles.

When given a starting role for the first time in the Orange Bowl, White recorded 8 tackles, proving that he can lead this team in that category. In all likelihood, this is the guy who will replace Johnson in that category, but there is one more surprise candidate who should not be ruled out.
