The Texas A&M Football team was pretty well represented in the 2021 NFL Draft. Four players were taken — one in the third round and three in the fourth round. Quarterback Kellen Mond highlighted the group, taken as the earliest pick by the Minnesota Vikings, where he’ll be Kirk Cousins’ backup for at least a year.

But after a strong year in the draft in 2021, attention will shift to the 2022 NFL Draft, where the Aggies have quite a few players listed as prospects. More specifically, Mel Kiper, the NFL’s primary draft expert, has listed four Aggie players near the top of their position groups on his positional rankings (paid content).

It’s no secret that the Aggies will have a lot of talent in the upcoming season, but when you look at how many are projected to be drafted at the top of their position groups, things get even more exciting.

It starts on the offensive end, where Mel Kiper has three Aggies listed. This is especially promising, as the Texas A&M offense is thought of as being a step behind the defense. That said, there will be some moving parts, but the leaders of this attacking unit are among the best in college football.

This is highlighted by Isaiah Spiller and Devon Achane, two players who could form one of the deadliest one-two punches in the game. Spiller is set to return as the SEC’s leading career rusher, while Achane could breakout with his track star speed. These guys make up two of the top three runningback prospects on Mel Kiper’s positional rankings.
