The Texas A&M Football team has two of the best runningbacks in college football

For some reason, there hasn’t been an excess of hype surrounding the Aggies’ runningback room as 2021 approaches. This very website has managed to manufacture some hype, but generally speaking, Isaiah Spiller and Devon Achane have gone under the radar in the SEC.

Spiller’s resume speaks for itself. He’s the SEC’s leading career rusher and he rushed for over 1,000 yards last season. Even with a veteran quarterback by his side, he was able to establish himself as an elite runner.

But he’s not the only dangerous runner on the team.

In fact, in the Aggies’ bowl game against the North Carolina Tarheels, Devon Achane may have proven himself to have a ceiling as high as Spiller. In Texas A&M’s last game of the season, Devon Achane rushed for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns like it was nothing.

As mentioned, this team has a new offensive line with a new quarterback behind it. There’s no doubt that they’ll rely on these two runningbacks at the beginning of the year. And who else could coaches and fans have more trust in than these two ball carriers?

If there is a best-case scenario for losing most of your offensive line and quarterback, this is it. Expect a huge start to the season for these guys, making Haynes King or Zach Calzada’s job simplified.
