The Texas A&M Football team is expected to be competitive in 2021, even with losses on the offensive line and at the quarterback position. They’ll be searching for a new leader on both sides of the ball with the departures of Kellen Mond and Buddy Johnson.

That said, most media outlets are still considering the Aggies a top team, with plenty of early top 25 rankings seeing TAMU in the top ten.

That said, Jimbo Fisher’s team is not without questions. In fact, in comparison to any other year that he has been the head coach in College Station, there are arguably more questions leading up to the season than ever before.

Here are three questions leading up to the 2021 Texas A&M Football season.

Who will be Texas A&M Football’s quarterback week 1 against Kent State?

This is the most obvious question on the docket for the Texas A&M Football team and one that Gig’Em Gazette has already covered. That said, we’ll get into this briefly as the first question in regards to the 2021 season.

Who will be the Aggies’ quarterback in 2021?

Right now, the quarterback competition seems to have a distinct pecking order. Haynes King seems like the favorite, with Zach Calzada keeping things interesting as the number two quarterback on the depth chart.

In all likelihood, Calzada would have entered his name into the transfer portal if he had already lost the job, so it looks like this one could still go either way. That said, King seems to have a higher ceiling, so look for him to step out onto the field against Kent State on September 4th.
