The Texas A&M Football team has a seemingly decided “quarterback competition” going on
If you read any media outlet’s coverage of the Texas A&M Football team this offseason, you’ll read about the Aggies’ raging quarterback competition that has been going on since the conclusion of the 2020-21 season.
That said, I’m not so sure this is the fierce competition that it is being made out to be. If you were forced to wager a large portion of your money on who would be the starter, who would you choose?
Nearly everybody would say Haynes King, the Aggies’ dual-threat sophomore quarterback from Longview, Texas. And in all likelihood, they’d be right. Zach Calzada looked good in the Aggies’ Maroon and White game earlier in the spring, but there’s a distinct talent gap between the two players. King is better, plain and simple.
And as a result, we’re going to assume that King gets the start on September 4th against Kent State.
But how does this fare for the Aggies against Alabama?
