Texas A&M Football secures their third highly-ranked recruit in 24 hours
The Texas A&M Football team has officially caught fire on the recruiting trail. Of course, this would happen just a day after Gig’Em Gazette posted about the Aggies falling behind in recruiting. Let’s just forget about that post and call it a positive jinx.
Nonetheless, Jimbo Fisher tacked on another exciting recruit in a 4-star athlete on Friday. That commitment goes by the name of Jarred Kerr, an exciting 2022 wide receiver/athlete out of Lexington, Texas.
Kerr is one of the most versatile players in his class, playing extremely well on both sides of the ball. He’s largely listed as a wide receiver, but this is a guy who can be used as a swiss-army knife, filling in all over the field.
He announced his commitment via Twitter.
Much like nearly every player recruited by Jimbo Fisher, Kerr had an extremely impressive offer sheet. He had the choice of going to schools like Texas, Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech, among others.
Not only is this a huge pickup for the Aggies, but it always helps to steal a recruit from in-state rival Texas and other schools in the surrounding area.
Kerr has been seen on the field as a runningback, wide receiver, and in the defensive secondary. He shows his athleticism in track and field as well, earning a gold medal in the long jump at 22-8.75. He may take time to settle in on the defensive side of the ball, but has the athleticism to play immediately on offense.
It’s unclear which side of the ball he’ll suit up on in 2022.
Jared Kerr’s commitment signifies that Texas A&M Football recruiting is officially on fire
With Kerr’s commitment, the Aggies have officially caught fire on the recruiting trail. After picking up an underrated 3-star linebacker earlier this week, Jimbo Fisher secured commitments from a trio of players in the past 24 hours.
This includes Kerr along with the nation’s top-ranked 2022 long snapper and a highly-touted 2023 quarterback prospect. The future is bright in Aggieland.
It looks like the snowball effect is finally beginning to happen as a result of the return of in-person recruiting. In all likelihood, recent secondary commit Bobby Taylor, a recruit-turned-recruiter, played a huge role in bringing Kerr to College Station.
Keep your eyes peeled, as Fisher isn’t even close to being done yet.
