Texas A&M Football: Aggies make final list for 2023 5-star CB
The Texas A&M Football team just made a shortlist for one of the best overall prospects in the 2023 class. Sound familiar?
That’s likely because Jimbo Fisher shoots high when he’s aiming for new recruits. Every full Fisher recruiting class has finished in the top ten and the 2023 class shouldn’t be an exception.
On Tuesday, the Aggies pulled one step closer to one of the best cornerbacks in the country. AJ Harris, a 5-star football player in the 2023 class and the second-best cornerback that year just narrowed down his list of potential destinations.
Among the list was Texas A&M, who isn’t considered a frontrunner by any stretch of the imagination at the moment. Here is the full list of schools in his top-13.
- Georgia
- Virginia Tech
- LSU
- Auburn
- Alabama
- Notre Dame
The competition doesn’t stop there.
- Texas A&M
- Clemson
- Ohio State
- USC
- Florida
- Miami
The Texas A&M Football team is in the middle of an extremely talented group of teams
Thus far, the Aggies havent separated themselves.
Tezas A&M has had seven 5-star players visit in the month of June but AJ Harris has not yet made his way onto campus. Jimbo Fisher might be late to the game but he’s still in a very large mix of teams that could land this elite cornerback.
Right now, Harris plays all over the field but is primarily listed as a cornerback. As a player who is going into his third year of high school football, he’s already built like a grown man at 6-2 and 180 pounds.
Right now, Harris has a single crystal ball predicting him to go to Georgia, but his recruitment is still wide open. The 2023 cornerback claims that he will not narrow his list again before committing, so this could be a sleeper commitment to keep an eye on.
In all likelihood, Jimbo Fisher will make it a priority to get this physically dominant cornerback into Aggieland to experience what TAMU has to offer.
Fortunately for Fisher and his staff, there’s no huge rush in getting a commitment from this player, as he still has a couple of years of high school football left to play. Right now, Texas A&M’s staff will be more focused on completing their 2022 class.
