The 2018 Georgia Football team came close but fell just short of Alabama

Even though the Georgia Football team is the only one on this list that didn’t beat Alabama, Jimbo Fisher may be able to learn the biggest lessons from them.

The Bulldogs finished the season at 11-3 at the top of the SEC East. They would earn the honors of playing Alabama in the SEC Championship game and fell just short, sending them into a downward spiral that saw the very same team take a loss to Texas in the Sugar Bowl.

Here’s why the Aggies can learn from Georgia’s 2018 season.

In 2018 Kirby Smart played a great season but was ultimately doomed by a couple of off-days. These off-days came in the form of a 16-36 loss to LSU early in the year and a couple of close losses at the end of the season.

The Bulldogs played the Tide close, however, in the SEC Championship game, losing by just a single touchdown. Heck, they had Nick Saban in their clutches with a College Football Playoff appearance all but guaranteed before blowing a 14-point second-half lead.

The lesson learned here is that Jimbo Fisher needs to be on his game for 60 minutes each outing. If you take a single quarter off, the Tide will destroy your hopes and dreams, as they did to the 2018 Georgia Bulldogs.

Had Kirby Smart held onto this lead, their fate may have been much different.
