The Texas A&M Football team had an extremely eventful month in June when it comes to Aggie recruiting. The Aggies received five commitments at the end of the month, boosting their recruiting rankings and striking fear into the rest of the SEC.
Jimbo Fisher continued to do his thing as a recruiter and bring the country’s best talent to College Station. But he wasn’t done there.
After a dry period for the past month, Jimbo Fisher picked up right where he left off, bringing in an extremely strong defensive end prospect in Jadon Scarlett. Scarlett is a high 3-star recruit with an impressive offer sheet, holding offers from all of the following schools.
- Missouri
- Oklahoma
- Michigan
- LSU
- Penn State
- Texas
These are just the noteworthy teams, as the defensive end held offers from 25 schools including Texas A&M, who received a commitment from him on Monday. He announced his commitment on Twitter via video.
Scarlett mentioned the ability to earn playing time in big-play situations as one of the primary reasons behind his commitment. Here’s what he said according to 247Sports.
"“Coach (Jimbo) Fisher, he was pretty much echoing the same thing as coach Price. The time I get, I’m going to be happy with every play I get because I’m a freshman, so I would be excited to play in a big-time environment.”"

Even though Scarlett is one of the lowest-rated players in Jimbo Fisher’s 2022 class on paper, he’s a monster out on the field. If this wasn’t obvious by looking at his impressive offer sheet, it will become obvious when you watch his game tape.
Scarlett is a shifty defensive end, relying on his speed and quickness right now. That said, he has room to grow physically, which could eventually lead to early playing time if he’s able to put on enough weight by the time the 2022-23 season rolls around.
In his past couple of seasons at the high school level, Scarlett has accumulated 25 sacks and a pair of forced fumbles. At the very least, he’ll bring instant energy to the Aggies’ practice field.
The Argyle defensive end became Jimbo Fisher’s 12th commitment of the 2022 class and highlighted how strong the Aggies have been in the recruiting cycle this year.
