Texas A&M Football: Ranking Aggies’ opposing QBs in 2021-22
Texas A&M Football opposing quarterback rankings: Elite passers
4. Dustin Crum, Kent State: I specifically ordered this list in groupings of four because I believe that all of the quarterbacks on this slide are true threats. Dustin Crum is a distinct step below the rest of these guys but he has accounted for 42 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions in the past couple of seasons. Texas A&M cannot sleep on this man. The only upside here is that Kent State’s defense is terrible, so Crum’s offense may not be able to keep up with Haynes King and the Texas A&M Football team.
3. Myles Brennan/Max Johnson: It’s hard to say who will be the starter here, as Myles Brennan recently broke his non-throwing arm in a freak fishing accident. I’m not making this up. On day one, Max Johnson will be under center and he has looked like a strong quarterback in his time on the field thus far. On 150 attempts, he has over 1,000 yards, 8 touchdowns, and just a single interception. He could be the key to an LSU bounce-back year.
2. Matt Corral, Ole Miss: I’m probably going to get grilled for putting a proven Matt Corral at second behind a guy who has barely seen the field in college. Still, I’m standing by this. Corral is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, passing for 3,337 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions with over 10 yards per attempt last season. A&M should have elevated cornerback play by the end of the season when these two teams collide, so hopefully, they can slow him down.
1. Bryce Young, Alabama: Bryce Young was the second-highest ranked player in the 2020 class and one of the best quarterback prospects in recent memory. He’s the perfect Alabama football prototype. He was the National Quarterback of the Year in high school and at Alabama, he’ll have the best talent around him to work with. Hopefully, the Tide’s losses on the offensive end will prevent them from dropping another 50-burger on A&M in 2021.
