Texas A&M Football most important game, No. 2: LSU

This is a more obvious choice than Mississippi State, as the Aggies will be heading to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers to finish off their season. Even though LSU isn’t a national contender right now, the outcome of this game could decide Texas A&M’s fate.

The previous contests between these two teams don’t give us much to work with. Last season, the Aggies struggled to get going offensively but shut down the Tigers on defense, leading to a pretty commanding 20-7 victory. The year prior, however, Texas A&M took arguably the worst loss in Jimbo Fisher’s tenure thus far in a 50-7 drumming of the Aggies by LSU. This LSU squad was arguably one of the best college football teams of all time, but still. Tough look.

The year before that in 2018? The highest-scoring game in college football history, with Texas A&M winning 74-72.

Honestly, I have no idea what to expect out of this game. As a late-season matchup, this one has the potential to be another high-scoring affair, but last year’s contest would convince you otherwise.

Either way, Texas A&M will likely have to win this game, even if they’ve beaten Alabama, in order to reach the College Football Playoff.
