Texas A&M Football Week 2 players to watch: New Mexico QB Terry Wilson

There is no doubt about it — Terry Wilson is the most threatening player on the New Mexico Football team. The former SEC quarterback knows what needs to happen to win in the SEC, even if he’s no longer in the league.

On the season, Terry Wilson has been completely flawless. The fourth-year passer has completed 73% of his passes for six touchdowns without throwing an interception. He has 555 passing yards to cap off a perfect two-game stretch.

It seems extremely unlikely that he’ll be able to continue this trend against Jimbo Fisher’s squad, but that doesn’t mean he won’t give the Aggies trouble.

Texas A&M’s pass defense has been among the nation’s elite. A&M has allowed the third-fewest passing yards per game in college football and opposing teams haven’t reached the endzone through the air yet. I think that will change this game.

Still, it’s hard to see a world where Wilson lights up a top-ten team’s pride and joy of a passing defense. At the very least, Wilson is an extremely fun player to watch. If the Aggies are winning big, it’ll be nice to see. If it’s a close game, everybody will hate Wilson by the time 60 minutes is up.
