The Texas A&M football team has had a storied season which is best exemplified by their movement in the AP Poll thus far in 2021

The Texas A&M football team took care of business in their Week 7 matchup against Missouri in Columbia. The Aggies won the game by a convincing margin of 21 points and proved that their win against Alabama wasn’t a one-hit-wonder.

For Jimbo Fisher, his players, his staff, and anybody involved in the program, it’s another win. They likely will not be concerned with where their squad ranks in the coming week’s AP Poll. Fortunately, I’m not on the team. I care.

When it comes to the Aggies’ 2021 season and their appearances in the AP Poll — they’ve been all over the place. Starting out as a top ten team and gradually slithering into the top five gave most fans promise. The Aggies would then lose to a highly-ranked Arkansas team, dropping down to the 15 spot. After that, they’d lose to Mississippi State and drop out of the poll entirely.

Their win against Alabama would shoot them back into the top-25, landing the Aggies at the 21 spot, where they resided this week.

Where will the Texas A&M football team rank in the Week 7 AP Poll?

The Texas A&M football team won in dominant fashion against a solid Missouri team. Logic tells you that they’ll move up in the poll. Here’s why they could make a huge jump this week.

Ahead of the Aggies, you’ll see a cluster of inbetweener teams. A handful of squads who have had up and down seasons, much like Texas A&M. Jimbo Fisher’s squad will benefit from the fact that a lot of these squads had rough weeks.

No. 20 Florida lost, No. 19 BYU lost, No. 18 Arizona State lost, and No. 17 Arkansas lost. That gives the Aggies at least four teams to leapfrog. Again, the AP Poll doesn’t mean much, but Texas A&M should see a significant jump to the 17th spot next week.
