Texas A&M Football Unsung Hero No. 2: OL Kenyon Green

Entering the season, the Texas A&M football team had just a single returning offensive lineman. Luckily for Jimbo Fisher, that sole returning lineman was Kenyon Green, arguably the best offensive lineman in the entire country.

In a stroke of bad luck for Jimbo Fisher, the offensive line suffered a handful of early injuries, turning an inexperienced offensive line into an inexperienced offensive line full of backups. Texas A&M is still missing one starter in Luke Matthews, but the unit is back to relative full health now.

I’m not even sure if I can call Kenyon Green an unsung hero — the Aggie offensive lineman has been reeling in all kinds of awards this year, including a Co-Offensive Player of the Week honor for his performance against South Carolina.

Still, the offensive line position will be naturally overlooked.

Green has been doing it all — sliding around to every offensive line position outside of the center spot. In a year where Texas A&M has had more than its fair share of injuries, Green has been a rare piece of stability for this squad.

He’ll likely be a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, so enjoy Green’s presence while he’s here.
