Why Auburn’s defense shouldn’t scare the Texas A&M football team
Reason No. 2: The Texas A&M football team’s offense is coming off of a rest week and returns a key player
If I had to narrow this list down to just a single reason, this would be the one. As mentioned on the last slide, Texas A&M’s offense and Auburn’s defense are almost indistinguishable skill-wise. If you’re splitting hairs, there is one distinct hair that should be split.
That hair (I don’t know what I’m talking about at this point) is in relation to the Aggies’ bye week, which should go a long way for them.
The offensive struggles from the Texas A&M football team were nothing more than an illusion — I’ll stand by this until I’m proven wrong. The Aggies’ offensive struggles didn’t appear until they lost multiple offensive linemen and their starting quarterback.
Anybody who doesn’t see this isn’t looking at the obvious.
Because of this, I think the Texas A&M football team will benefit from a bye week more than virtually any other team in the country.
The players who have been dinged up throughout the course of the season will have a chance to recover. Specifically, one player who can have a huge impact on the remainder of this season had a two-week opportunity to get back to 100%. That player is Caleb Chapman, who I mentioned in an article yesterday.
The Aggie wideout is a difference-maker, with game-changing speed and size.
