There were doubters for the Texas A&M football team, with a handful of college football fans and experts predicting the Aggies to lose to the Auburn Tigers. Auburn was ranked 13th in the country in the College Football Playoff Rankings.

Texas A&M did not care.

The Aggies would win in convincing fashion against Auburn, limiting the Tigers to just three points on the night. It was a relatively disappointing night offensively for A&M, but nobody will complain about a 17-point win against a top-15 team. But what stood out in this game?

The Texas A&M football team disproved a few pre-game narratives that surfaced before their Week 10 matchup

The Aggies were one of the earliest two-loss teams in the SEC, with a couple of ugly games against Arkansas and Mississippi State. It looked like it was time to pack it up for Jimbo Fisher’s team in 2021, with A&M struggling to put up any points offensively.

Without their first real test in 2021, Texas A&M stood at 3-2. But the Aggies fought back.

While some may have been pushing the narrative that Texas A&M was a contender, it was hard to move past the fact that this team had lost two games to unranked football teams. Even with three consecutive dominant victories, there were doubts.

Jimbo Fisher’s squad put those doubts to bed in a top-15 matchup.
