The Texas A&M football team played its best defense of the year against a formidable opponent

The first, and perhaps the most un-ignorable (yes, that’s a made-up word) part of the Aggies’ performance against Auburn, was the fact that Texas A&M’s defense played one of its best overall games of the year. This game, as previously mentioned, only allowed three points for A&M’s opponent.

Overall, Auburn only accumulated 226 yards. For perspective, the worst offensive team in the country averaged 251 yards per contest. That’s the Colorado Buffaloes.

Here’s a list of other impressive stats, just for kicks. Texas A&M held Auburn to:

  • 4/16 on third down
  • 3.2 yards per play
  • 73 rushing yards

Perhaps the best part of this performance is the fact that it wasn’t a turnover-heavy game for Auburn. Instead of constantly creating turnovers, Texas A&M simply held Auburn to a very low offensive production.

With six wins and a lot to prove, A&M’s pride and joy stepped up.
