The Texas A&M football team and its fans have to be extremely pleased with who they have at the head coaching spot. Jimbo Fisher is part of a small handful of active head coaches who have won a national championship in the past.

But Aggie fans are having a hard time enjoying their head coach’s presence with rumors about Fisher leaving for the LSU job in the midst.

This has resulted in multiple occasions where Jimbo Fisher, in his best words, tries to articulate the concept that he will not be leaving College Station. The first time around, Fisher emphasized that he enjoys everybody that he’s surrounded with and wants to be in Aggieland. This came the day after it was announced that Ed Orgeron was parting ways with LSU.

For some reason, Texas A&M football HC Jimbo Fisher is receiving criticism after squashing rumors for the second time

Even though Jimbo Fisher already told the media that he was happy with Texas A&M, heavily implying that he would not be considering the LSU job, he still continued to receive questions about the opening.

When asked about the LSU opening again in this week’s press conference, Fisher gave a memorable answer to paranoid Aggie fans. Here’s what he said.

"“We’re going to recruit an unbelievable class this year, so I’m either the dumbest human being on God’s earth who recruited all of these guys to come to A&M so that I can go over here and play against them. If I do that, you oughta say that’s the dumbest human being and I don’t want him as my coach.”"

Fisher also noted the fact that many fans are distrusting of head coaches and head coaches are distrusting of the media. Still, when it comes to college football head coaches, you can’t find a statement with more confidence than that.

Still, Paul Finebaum who, in fairness, tends to say ridiculous things with any basis of logic from time to time, said that Jimbo Fisher is “doing too much talking” in relation to the LSU job. By answering questions that he’s asked in his weekly press conference. Twice. In a month.

Maybe sit this one out, Paul.

Aggie fans should be able to rest easy. Again, Jimbo Fisher is either a lying idiot who is recruiting against himself or he is going to continue to be one of the best coaches in the nation at Texas A&M. I’d bet on the latter.
