The Texas A&M football team is coming off of the heels of a top-15 matchup between themselves and Penn State. Unfortunately, the Aggies lost, virtually ending their College Football Playoff and SEC Championship hopes.

Thankfully, they have a great opportunity to get another strong win on their resume this weekend. Just kidding, they’re playing Prairie View A&M.

The positive here, however, is the fact that the Aggies can get a confidence-boosting win before heading into a hostile LSU environment. These three Texas A&M football players can make a statement in A&M’s second-to-last game.

Texas A&M Football Player No. 1: WR Caleb Chapman

Be patient with me here — I’ve been hyping up Caleb Chapman for the entire offseason and well into the 2021 season. I will not stop here. Eventually, Chapman will have his 2021 breakout game. I think it’ll happen against Prairie View A&M this weekend.

As things stand, the Panthers are 7-2 and have a strong defensive unit. They allow just over 23 points per game, but haven’t faced a team nearly as talented as A&M. I think that will be on display, especially in terms of athleticism.

Against Power Five teams, Caleb Chapman already presents a mismatch — imagine what he’ll do against PVAMU. I’ll be the first to admit that we could see a strong performance out of Demond Demas, who has a similar playstyle, or a more obvious candidate in Ainias Smith.

Whatever the case is, expect high passing yardage relative to what Aggie fans are used to. This leads me to my next player.
