No. 2: The Texas A&M football team saw a breakout performance from a key wide receiver

This first paragraph is for the crowd that read my article about three Aggies who can turn heads against PVAMU. The bad news here is that the Caleb Chapman hype train has been delayed another game. The Aggie wideout had just a single reception for nine yards in Saturday’s game.

But another receiver had a huge breakout game.

That player is Moose Muhammed, a second-year redshirt freshman wide receiver for Texas A&M. On Saturday, Muhammed had the best game of his career thus far, pulling in five receptions for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Panthers.

For a wide receiving corps that has struggled with injuries all year long, the emergence of the former four-star wide receiver prospect got a warm welcome from the 12th Man. This emergence included a 33-yard second-quarter touchdown reception that really put this game out of reach.

Muhammed’s performance is important going forward for a Texas A&M football team that has little to no stability at the wide receiver position over the past couple of seasons. Even though they still don’t have that stability, there are clearly plenty of talented players ready to step into the spotlight for this squad.
