Texas A&M Football Commit No. 2: 5-star QB Conner Weigman

Conner Weigman is the fourth-highest-ranked recruit in the 2022 class, so why do I have him as my second-ranked commit?

He’s a quarterback.

Say what you want about Zach Calzada’s heart or Haynes King’s athleticism — neither of these guys has proven that they can be a consistent elite passer. As a result, Jimbo Fisher went out and brought in one of the best overall QB prospects in the 2022 class in Conner Weigman.

Weigman is the second-best quarterback prospect in his class and should immediately fight for the starting job. In terms of impact, he may be the most impactful in this class in a hurry.

Texas A&M Football Commit No. 1: 5-star DL Walter Nolen

The best part about Texas A&M’s 2022 class is that Jimbo Fisher will be perfectly patching up every hole left behind by a departing player. In this case, that hole was left by DeMarvin Leal, who will likely be a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Who better to replace him than the top overall prospect in the 2022 class in Walter Nolen. Okay, technically speaking, 247Sports’ Composite rankings have him as the second-best, but he’s the best. Nolen is 6’4″ and 325 pounds — measurements that could see him on an NFL defensive line.
