The Texas A&M football team has had a wave of elite recruits commit to the program in the past couple of months. While it started as a late recruiting push to move back into the top ten of college football, it has quickly become one of the most legendary finishes to a recruiting cycle ever — the Aggies now hold the top 2022 class in the nation.

But not all of the most valuable commits will be the five-star recruits that are coming to A&M. The Aggies are no stranger to diamonds in the brought — just look at Johnny Manziel, who went from being a three-star recruit to the first freshman who has ever won the Heisman Trophy.

Who will be the diamonds in the rough in the 2022 class? Here are the five most underrated commits in Texas A&M’s top-overall class.

Underrated Texas A&M Football Commit No. 1: Four-star CB Bobby Taylor

I’m putting Bobby Taylor first because frankly, I’ve already spoken about him on the site in-depth on a few occasions. The four-star Aggie cornerback commit will not only join a cornerback room that was depleted with injuries last season; he’s also been a key recruiter as a commit.

Again, I’ve gone into depth on this in the past but the Aggie commit helped bring in his teammate and top-70 prospect Malick Sylla and has been extremely active, taking more visits than necessary in an effort to help this class reach the status that it has.

At 6’1″, Taylor is also the prototypical size for a cornerback. The Aggies’ secondary was good this year, but it could get even better with his help.
