The Texas A&M football team’s 2022 class has zero holes. That’s not a hyperbolic statement, either — the Aggies incoming freshman next season will be the most elite group of athletes that any college football program has ever seen, pending a couple of commitments.

As things stand, Jimbo Fisher’s class is ranked atop 247Sports’ rankings. With a 325.14 rating, this class is rapidly approaching a new record with a few players expected to commit.

At the forefront of this class, you’ll see… well, you’ll see five-star and second-overall prospect Walter Nolen. But in terms of importance, the biggest commitment in the 2022 class might be the Aggies’ quarterback commit in Conner Weigman, a five-star passer out of Bridgeland, Texas.

The Texas A&M football team’s 2022 quarterback commit just won the most prestigious QB award in high school football

It’s no secret that Conner Weigman is one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. At the Elite 11, he showed out. In his high school career, he showed out. There isn’t an area of his game that can truly be criticized — he’s the full package as a passer.

This week, he was recognized for this.

The National QB Club named Conner Weigman its National High School Quarterback of the year after another season of him showing out. Weigman’s stats are in the tweet above, but here’s another look at them below.

  • 29 Passing TD
  • 6 INT
  • 9 Rushing TD
  • 2 Receiving TD

Receiving touchdowns might seem like a joke, but Weigman has the athleticism to catch passes in trick play scenarios. In reality, it’s a simple testament to his athleticism, something that Jimbo Fisher has clearly prioritized in his time as head coach of the Texas A&M football team.

Here’s what the president of the National QB Club said about Weigman according to 247Sports.

"“This young man serves as a fine example of everything that is right about high school football,” Don Kile, president of the National Quarterback Club, said. “We are looking forward to watching what he accomplishes on and off the field for years to come. To honor his phenomenal high school career, we’re pleased to host this outstanding celebration.”"

The Aggie commit is among the best players in the class and after a relative down year at the quarterback position for Texas A&M, his arrival cannot come soon enough.
