The Texas A&M football team is a long way out from the beginning of the 2022 season. Specifically, the Aggies’ Week 1 matchup against the Sam Houston Bearkats is on September 3rd, nearly eight months out.

That said, some newcoming players are already enrolled and set to be on campus for the start of the upcoming spring semester. This will give these players a big opportunity to get ahead and put themselves in a position to earn early playing time.

The Aggies’ list of early enrollees is currently totaled at 12. 11 of these players are incoming freshmen, while one is a transfer. Here is every player and his expected impact on this football team.

Former LSU quarterback Max Johnson will, in my opinion, have the biggest guaranteed impact of any incoming player on this team

Max Johnson, Transfer from LSU:

Johnson gets a slide of his own because he’s the only transfer player on this list and, quite frankly, has the largest guaranteed impact on this team.

Last year, A&M struggled at the quarterback spot. That said, the struggles never seemed like a talent issue — it seemed to stem from a lack of experience, especially considering the fact that the team’s backup was playing all year long in Zach Calzada.

Max Johnson will transfer from LSU after a 27-touchdown, six-interception year with the Tigers, and gives A&M bigtime experience under center. Even if he doesn’t start, his leadership will go a long way for a football team that will be replacing quite a bit of NFL talent on both sides of the ball.
