Texas A&M Football 2022 Prospect No. 3: DL Shemar Stewart

Shemar Stewart is the top prospect in the 2022 class who has not announced a commitment to any school thus far. The Aggie prospect is ranked in the top ten, earning five-star status and being recognized as the best player in the state of Florida.

Jimbo Fisher plans to relocate Stewart to College Station, Texas.

The 6’6″, 272-pound defensive lineman (no, that’s not a typo) is primarily being recruited by Miami, Georgia, and Texas A&M. The Aggies look like they may hold a lead right now with five crystal balls for Texas A&M at the moment.

That said, Canes Warning’s Alen Rubenstein hypothesizes that Miami is making a strong push for the elite defensive lineman with a new coaching staff. Here’s what he said.

"Cristobal and the Miami football staff have been meticulous and not wasted any time recruiting Stewart. When the dead period in recruiting last week Cristobal and several Miami staff members visited Stewart shortly after midnight. Cristobal is living up to his reputation as a tireless recruiter."

Still, even Rubenstein admits that the Texas A&M football team looks like a huge favorite to land Stewart. If the Aggies were to pull in this commitment, it would be Jimbo Fisher’s sixth five-star commitment in the class, immortalizing A&M’s 2022 group.
