Since the arrival of Jimbo Fisher in Aggieland, the Texas A&M football team has asserted itself as a force to be reckoned with on the recruiting trail. In a tough SEC conference, the Aggie head coach has managed to tread water alongside elite recruiting programs like Alabama and Georgia.

The 2022 class put that on full display, with Texas A&M likely to finish with the best class in the entire country.

But will 2023 hold the same fate? So far, the Aggies are off to a hot start with four four-star prospects already committed to play for A&M. That said, this class has a long way to go — here are ten must-land recruits for the Texas A&M football team in the 2023 cycle.

The Texas A&M football team will look to add a pair of underrated defensive line prospects to the roster

DL Hunter Osborne (4-star): Hunter Osborne is not the first name that will come up when you look up Texas A&M recruiting. That said, the Aggie target holds offers from every school that a prospect in Alabama could ask for.

The 6’3″, 250-pound lineman is considered “warm” toward Texas A&M, Alabama, Indiana, and Oklahoma. The 2023 prospect could become the next in a long line of diamond in the rough A&M defensive linemen.

DL Lebbeus Overton (5-star): Lebbeus Overton might be the most important prospect on this list. Ranking-wise, he’s definitely A&M’s highest-rated target in this cycle, standing as the nation’s top defensive line prospect and third-highest-ranked prospect overall.

Overton has prototypical size at 6’4.5″ and 265 pounds. 247Sports considers Overton a slight lean toward Oklahoma, though his recruiting is still in the early stages. If the Aggies land Overton, who has been a regular in Aggieland, it would give them the nation’s top defensive line prospect for the second consecutive season.
