Texas A&M Football Runningback Concern: Replacing Isaiah Spiller’s production

The Texas A&M football coaching staff should not be overly concerned about this position. Despite losing Isaiah Spiller, the team’s leading rusher from the last three seasons, A&M retains Devon Achane, the NCAA’s leader in yards per carry last season.

That said, a few Aggies will be fighting to take over Isaiah Spiller’s role, with LJ Johnson Jr. and Amari Daniels looking like early candidates to take over. The two combined for fewer than 200 total yards last season but will have a big opportunity to earn playing time.

At the very least, the Aggies will see another strong season from Achane.

Texas A&M Football Quarterback Concern: Finding “the guy”

After a year full of quarterback concerns, the QB spot has quickly become the least concerning position on offense. With last season’s original starter in Haynes King returning, the Aggies seemingly have an extremely high floor in this unit.

Jimbo Fisher also made sure not to repeat his mistake from a year ago, bringing in two more starter-quality quarterbacks in LSU transfer Max Johnson and five-star freshman Conner Weigman.

The only true “concern” here is whether or not the right guy will get the start.
