With the 15th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans decided to bolster their offensive line and spend their first-round pick on Kenyon Green, one of the most reliable players in this year’s pool. Kenyon Green played three years of football at Texas A&M, where he quickly became a key member of Jimbo Fisher’s offensive line.

The selection of Green would indicate that the Texans are trying to build a strong offensive line, mainly built off of prior success.

And at the college level, Green saw nothing but success. Today, I’m going to break down everything you need to know about the former five-star offensive lineman.

Former Texas A&M football OL Kenyon Green is as sturdy of an offensive lineman as you’ll find

According to NFL.com, Kenyon Green falls under the category of “will become a starter within two years.” When it comes to offensive linemen, this is a difficult status to achieve.

Green didn’t test particularly well but his numbers didn’t necessarily tank his draft stock. Apparently, the Houston Texans didn’t care.

The Humble, Texas native will be staying in his home state, joining a team that hasn’t had an abundance of success in recent years. Fortunately, Green has plenty of experience with messy situations, as the Aggies’ offensive line was all over the place last season.

In 2021, Green played significant football at every offensive line position outside of the center spot. He brings a type of versatility that is rare on the offensive line, giving A&M steady production no matter the position.

Green was recognized for his efforts, earning back-to-back All-American selections in his sophomore and junior campaigns. He was also a Lombardi Award finalist in his most recent season, proving to be one of the best players at his position in the nation.

At 6’4″ and 323 pounds, Green is built for the NFL and has been for quite some time. Despite being generally slow, Green has strong instincts with the strength to stop virtually any player from reaching the quarterback.
