Running Backs

Starter: Devon Achane (JR)

Backups: Amari Daniels (SO), L.J Johnson (RS FR)

Bench: Earnest Crownover (JR), Le’Veon Moss (FR)

The position that the Aggies don’t have to worry about in terms of production is the running back group. Led by budding star Devon Achane, this group brings a ton of speed, shiftiness, and some power.

To start, Achane will be the starter, there is no doubt about that. He brings a different level of speed and shiftiness to this offense. He is already on many award watchlists and could be an All-American if given the touches.

Amari Daniels and L.J Johnson fill out the backup roles. Daniels packs a punch when he runs and can be a great runner who can change the pace and even allow Achane to line up in the slot if they intend to use him in that way. Johnson is young, but I think he can provide an impact similar to Achane, and what better way to get him equipped to this offense than coming in for the guy you will help replace in the future.

Filling out the rest of the bench is Earnest Crownover and Le’Veon Moss. Crownover can still earn touches from time to time, but I expect that to be more so in games that are out of reach. I fully expect Moss to redshirt unless he blows coaches away in camp.
