5. Pick Analysis. G. Layden Robinson. player. 873. Scouting Report. RS Junior

Starting off this list is offensive lineman Layden Robinson. Robinson was an AP All-SEC Second Team selection in 2021 and looks to build off that with another productive season in 2022. Robinson has a good chance to take advantage of what looks like a weaker guard class than in years past and climb up draft boards with a good season.

The 6’4, 330-pound guard enjoyed a great first season as a starter. He graded high in PFF’s run blocking scale (85.0) and decent in their pass blocking scale (65.6). It’s clear he’s a better run blocker than pass blocker, which is good because he’s a guard. He has a ton of power and does a great job not allowing players to gain leverage on him despite his modest arm length.

The biggest issue with Robinson is that he can be stiff, and his athleticism is just decent. This hinders his ability to react in a timely sense to stunts and pass-rush moves. Despite these issues, it’s definitely something he can fix and is more than likely working on in camp. By draft day, I could see Robinson being a Day 2 selection.
