CB. Junior. Jaylon Jones. 4. 873. Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report

Coming in at number four is junior cornerback Jaylon Jones. Jones is a former five-star recruit who is hoping to crack the starting lineup this season again. He will need to compete with Myles Jones and Tyreek Chappell for snaps, but I think by the end of the season, he should have one of the outside starter spots.

What makes Jones an intriguing prospect is his above average size and length. Standing at 6’2 and 205 pounds, Jones also has two years of SEC experience and almost two full seasons of starting snaps. He mostly needs to take a step in his development in man coverage to become a higher-touted NFL prospect, because at this point, he would more than likely be seen as a late-round flyer.

The former five-star recruit has had NFL scouts watching him since high school, so it’s almost guaranteed he will be drafted next year barring significant injury or performance decline. However, his ceiling is very high, and he could even garner some first-round consideration if he takes that next step and becomes stickier in coverage.
