The regular season is fast approaching for the Texas A&M Football Aggies. We know that they lost some big-time players to the NFL, but they also had a strong recruiting class which helps offset their losses. That doesn’t stop certain players from feeling the pressure of knowing that they will be looked upon to lead this team. These are the times when players can either rise to the occasion or they will crumble under the pressure.

It will be interesting to see what these players are able to do this season now having the added pressure of being so highly ranked and talk of NCAA playoffs being floated. Here are a few players that will need to step up as they are facing a make-or-break season, whether it be from competition on the team or trying to improve their draft stock.

QB. 1. player. 873. Pick Analysis. Redshirt Sophomore. Haynes King. Scouting Report

No one should be feeling the pressure more than Haynes King who is in a battle for the starting quarterback spot this season against Max Johnson and five-star recruit Conner Weigman. King’s devastating injury last season make this season for him all the more important as the team was able to still have a winning record. King will be feeling the pressure to come in and build off the Aggies’ winning during the 2021 season. If he struggles early, then he could be one bad game away from seeing Johnson take over.

King will also want to have a strong season in order to put a bit more shine on his name if he wants to be drafted at some point. He can do it, but the question right now is if he can come back healthy enough to hold off Johnson and Weigman to win the job.
