Demani Richardson and Jardin Gilbert are set to be the starting safeties this season for D.J Durkin’s defense. I know what you’re thinking, where’s Antonio Johnson? Johnson is playing more of a nickel role again this season, so I have him more in the cornerbacks group, but he still leaves his mark here.

Richardson, Gilbert, and Johnson make this group elite and among the best in the SEC. The bench has enormous potential in Bryce Anderson, Jacoby Matthews, and Smoke Bouie, but they have yet to set foot on the field.

As stated before, the young players in this group have immense potential. Including a commitment in 2023, there are five four-stars in this room and they can have a huge impact as soon as next season due to Richardson and Johnson more than likely leaving after this season.
