Texas A&M football brought in one of, if not the best, recruiting classes of all-time this past recruiting cycle. A big part of that recruiting class was the wide receiver group. Jimbo Fisher managed to reel in a five-star in Evan Stewart, and two highly rated four-stars in Chris Marshall and Noah Thomas.

This class was much needed for the Aggies, because other than Ainias Smith, there is no other bona fide starter on the roster. With this class, it brings in potentially three immediate impact players, and one for sure starter; that being Evan Stewart.

I will be briefly going game-by-game to predict Stewart’s statlines for each game, which will them accumulate to a final season statline. It’s important to include context for how his season will go, so going game-by-game will give a good idea of the impact he will have on certain games.

Predicting Texas A&M football freshman Evan Stewart’s game-by-game statlines for 2022

Week 1 vs. SHSU: 5 catches, 87 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
Week 2 vs. App. State: 6 catches, 71 receiving yards
Week 3 vs. #16 Miami: 4 catches, 56 receiving yards
Week 4 vs. #19 Arkansas: 5 catches, 77 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
Week 5 @ MSU: 8 catches, 155 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
Week 6 @ #1 Alabama: 2 catches, 22 receiving yards
Week 7 @ SC: 3 catches, 37 receiving yards
Week 8 vs. #21 Ole Miss: 5 catches, 70 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
Week 9 vs. Florida: 7 catches, 98 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
Week 10 @ Auburn: 4 catches, 42 receiving yards
Week 11 vs. UMASS: 3 catches, 40 receiving yards
Week 12 vs. LSU: 5 catches, 78 receiving yards, 1 touchdown

Stewart’s season statline prediction: 57 catches, 833 receiving yards, 7 touchdowns,14.6 YPC

Stewart should have no problem getting comfortable in the college football game. I expect him to start off hot, racking up 28 catches for 446 yards and four touchdowns in the first five games, including a huge game against Mississippi State.

After Week 5, the Aggies as a whole enter a tough stretch of games, going on the road against Alabama, South Carolina, and Ole Miss. The odds that Stewart is shut down in all three of those games are unlikely, so I have him having a good game against Ole Miss. Bama and South Carolina both have really solid secondary’s, so Ole Miss should be a good bounce back game for him.

I expect him to finish strong in games against not-so-great back sevens. They more than likely will take him out of a game against Massachusetts once it gets out of hand, so that explains his average statline against a bad team.

Overall, Stewart is the number two target on this team, and he has a chance to even become its number one throughout the season. He will be hard to completely shut down, so I expect him to be a factor in almost every game. It will be fun to watch what the top-10 recruit will do against SEC competition in 2022.
