I know what you’re thinking. Edgerrin Cooper isn’t underrated because Aggie fans know he is going to have a huge season next year. Regardless, he is underrated in regards to the national media not paying any sort of attention to him.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Edgerrin Cooper is going to be a star this season. He has all the makings of a run-all-over-the-field and playmaking linebacker on this defense. His speed is unreal at the position, and with another offseason under his belt, he can take this defense to another level.

Last season, Cooper had a not so great first half of the season. Often times, he looked lost and took poor pursuit angles, missing tackles as a result. However, everything seemed to click after Week 7. He started to look like a missile targeting running backs and he showed flashes of great run-stopping potential.

Cooper will be an integral part of this defense. The redshirt freshman has a chance to put his name on the map and on NFL scouts’ radars for the 2024 Draft. Try to keep track of him on the field as much as you can. Wherever the ball is, expect him to be. He is going to be an offense’s worst nightmare this season.
