3. QB Haynes King

This is another example of a player that is primarily underrated by the national media rather than Aggie fans themselves. Haynes King gets respect from most Aggie fans, and they believe in him. However, the national media shrugs off King for the most part.

I’m not necessarily saying they are wrong for doing so. Just looking at his stats last season, you come away unimpressed. However, King has noticeably gotten better over the offseason, and it appears the media hasn’t seen that.

Over the course of spring ball and training camp, all you heard about was the quarterback competition, and you’d keep hearing King’s name. He looks very improved in terms of passing, his passes are on more of a line than they used to, he looks more poised in the pocket than he used to, and he’s knows the playbook inside and out.

King is on pace to have a breakout season this year, and a lot of national coverage is writing the redshirt sophomore off. In the end, he won his second straight QB battle, and he finally gets a chance to prove doubters wrong with a (hopefully) healthy season.
