Studs

WR Ainias Smith

Sub-Zero was all over the field and the MVP of week one studs. Off to a great start for his senior season, Ainias Smith came to play with 6 catches for 164 yards (a career high), and 2 touchdowns. You could not ask for a more magical way to start the season for the senior and you can see what an important role he will have this season.

Yulkeith Brown

Sophomore wide receiver Yulkeith Brown made a name for himself on Saturday. Brown scored the first touchdown of the game with a nice catch while swooping down the field 66 yards to the end zone. He gave the fans a reason to get excited in the first quarter but his statement play was a block right before half time.

Brown set a nice block on B.J. Foster, a former five-star for the Longhorns. This gave Ainias Smith the room he needed to find his way to the end zone for a touchdown. I am excited to see what the sophomore wideout has in store for us for the rest of the season.

Fadil Diggs

Sophomore DL Fadil Diggs was all over the place on defense. No.10 was showing up early and often. Diggs had five total tackles and conducted himself like the leader of the group. The defensive line was able to get pressure and help the Aggies shutout the Bearkats on Saturday.  With all that talent at the DL position, it was great to see the experienced guys leading the way with the five-star freshmen mixing in for some action. This will be a very solid unit for the Aggies this season.

Jardin Gilbert

Sophomore safety Jardin Gilbert was great on Saturday with an interception and five tackles. Seeing No. 20 step up and take the safety role by storm is exactly what the Aggies needed to build confidence. Gilbert’s first start can be considered a success and A&M can look forward to seeing a lot more of him this season.
