Special Teams

It was a very up-and-down afternoon for this Aggies special teams unit. On one hand, they were able to return a kickoff for a touchdown by Devon Achane, but also saw Caden Davis miss a field goal that would have had this game tied at the end of regulation. The kicking team coverage was very good in this game for the Aggies, so overal,l it was an okay day for their special teams.

Grade: B

Coaching Staff

This was a very bad game from this Aggies coaching staff on both sides of the football. Jimbo Fisher and the offense failed to gain any type of momentum. Then, you have D.J. Durkin who just didn’t seem to be able to slow down that Appalachian State running game. It was as if they didn’t really feel like Appalachian State was a real threat and may have looked past them. With this loss being such a shock to the system you can rest assured that they will have their team better prepared in the future.

Grade: F

Overall, this wasn’t the Aggies team we expected to see on Saturday, and really has to have us wondering what we will see from them going forward.
