The stakes are high this weekend for Texas A&M football as they attempt to get back in the win column after being upset by Appalachian State last Saturday. They now host the Miami Hurricanes at Kyle Field on the 17th, and it will certainly be rocking.
That is something you hear fairly often. However, it will be more than true this Saturday as the team announced on Thursday that the game will feature a sold out crowd. Kyle Field, the largest stadium in the SEC, and the fourth-largest in collegiate sports, is not only expected to be filled to capacity, but even well above that.
The stadium contains 102,733 seats and the team expects each of them to be filled, and more. The record for attendance at Kyle Field occurred in 2014 when the Aggies hosted Ole Miss. The stadium reported over 110,000 in attendance for the game.
According to the team’s website, 36,000 tickets came from the student pull, where students are guaranteed a ticket if they bought a sports pass for the season. “Standing-room only” tickets began to be distributed to students that bought the pass but didn’t get a ticket from the pull Friday morning, meaning the stadium will certainly be well above capacity.
This is by far the most anticipated game of the season to this point, and rightfully so. The Aggies and Hurricanes both want to prove they belong firmly within the Top-25, which should lead to one of the most exciting games in Week 3. One of the biggest keys to the Aggies winning this game is for the 12th Man to make it as hostile of an environment for Miami as possible, so be there, and be loud.
