Texas A&M football is getting ready to start conference play, and that begins with a Week 4 matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Coming off of a huge win at home against the then-13th ranked Miami Hurricanes, the Aggies are aiming to pull off yet another upset and claw their way back up the AP Poll after falling due to the Appalachian State loss.

Arkansas, on the other hand, is enjoying much success this season so far. The Hogs are 3-0 and ranked 10th in the country. They’ve secured wins against then-ranked Cincinnati, South Carolina, and Missouri State, who gave them a scare. After being down 24-17 going into the fourth quarter, Arkansas came back to win 38-27.

Texas A&M football-Arkansas history

Throughout these two teams’ history, Arkansas currently leads the series with a 42-33-3 record. There was a nearly 20 year break from the rivalry after the Razorbacks joined the SEC, however, the Southwest Classic was revived in 2009.

The recent history of this rivalry favors the Aggies heavily. From 2012-2020, Texas A&M won nine games in a row against the Razorbacks, including three that went into overtime. However, most recently, the Hogs got the best of the Ags in a 20-10 contest.

This game, as most have in recent past, will be played at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. In games of this series played at Jerry’s World, 10 games, the Aggies edge out the Razorbacks with a 6-4 record.

Saturday will mark the 79th meeting between both teams, and it will once again bring a very competitive spirit to Texas. Now, it’s time to get to know the 2022 Arkansas Razorbacks.
