The Texas A&M Football staff received some bad news Saturday afternoon, as 4-star and 247 Composite Top-100 player Jeremiyah Love committed to the Notre Dame Irish.  Love, a running back from Christian Brothers in St. Louis, MO, has been a longtime target for the Aggies.

This is a blow to the Aggies, as their other two top targets at the position, Roderick Robinson and Rueben Owens, are committed elsewhere as well— Robinson recently flipped from UCLA to Georgia, and Owens has been committed to Louisville for several months after decommitting from Texas.

The Aggie staff has had a penchant for sticking in these recruitments right until the very end, even when things don’t go their way (see Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy as a prominent example), but I have a feeling Love will stick with his commitment.

The Aggies will have to look elsewhere to fill their 2023 spot at the RB position after this latest development.  As I’ve mentioned, the staff doesn’t give up on a guy just because he commits elsewhere, but many of their top targets— and not just at the RB position— have made decisions in the favor of schools that are not the Aggies.  Regardless, I expect them to stay in the ear of guys like the 5-star Owens and Robinson right up until signing day.

Owens was scheduled to visit College Station for the Miami game but changed his mind when the visit was leaked ahead of time.  We’ll see if the Texas A&M Football staff can get him or Robinson on campus at some point later this month or in November— Kyle Field on gameday is definitely an ace in the hole for the folks in Bright, so all bets are off if a visit does occur.  Like I said earlier, my gut feel is that Love sticks with his decision and stays with the Irish, but if he makes it down to College Station again, things might get interesting.

Congratulations to Jeremiyah on his decision and we wish him well.
