What a game.  What a win.  What a performance by this Texas A&M football team that has been through so much this year.

I think one of the reasons this has been such a bummer of a season for me specifically is because of my glass-half-full perspective.  In the week leading up to a given game, I’m thinking about the edges the Aggies might have over their next opponent and subconsciously talking myself into expecting A&M to win.  I know I do this, and try to temper it, but it does shape my perception of things.  And in a year where it’s been one thing after another afflicting this Texas A&M football team from week to week, from injuries to illness to suspensions, I’ve been let down more often than not.

And so leading up to this game, I had the same inclinations.  But, at the same time, I was a changed man.  A world-weary man.  My inner dialogue had been tainted by this awful, Murphy’s Law-esque season.  Every optimistic ray of light that occurred to me would quickly be quashed by a much louder, BAS-poisoned voice born from the cesspool that has been 2022 thus far.

Achane will be back! But LSU has one of the best front sevens in the conference… Daniels struggles on the road! But A&M struggles so much against running QBs… LSU is overrated, and there are clear holes to attack! The Aggies haven’t shown any ability to take advantage of opponent’s weaknesses…

Well, look where we are now.

This win was invaluable in the face of everything that has come so far this year.  It was necessary in so many ways, from talent acquisition to talent retention to overall program outlook to springboarding into next year.  There’s so much to say about what last night’s result did for this program.  Let’s dive into some takeaways.
