QB of the Future for Texas A&M Football

Texas A&M football lands 2023 QB Marcel Reed hours after Reed decommitted from Ole Miss. Jimbo and company were able to snag the play caller out of Nashville, Tennessee. Reed is a 6’1 175 QB out of Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, TN). He is a 4-star and ranked as the number 18 QB in the country and 297th recruit in the 247 composite. He had offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, Baylor, and 14 other schools.

During Reed’s senior year he accumulated 2198 passing yards, 59% completion, 27 passing touchdowns, 944 rushing yards, and 15 rushing touchdowns. The dual threat QB lead his team to a 12-1 record. His dominance was on display as he could throw on the run as well as in the pocket. Reed has a nice burst of speed and runs with swagger to make defenders miss with ease. The raw tools are all there for the talented QB but will need some time to put it together.

Reed’s commitment moves the Aggies up to number 17 on 247 just days away from Early Signing Day. Jimbo and company are picking up steam as the day comes near and will need to close out strong after the recent departures due to the transfer portal. This is the first domino to fall as there are supposed to be more pieces committing after this very successful weekend official visit in College Station.  Keep it tuned right here to Gig Em Gazette for all your Texas A&M football coverage through the early signing period.
