Texas A&M gains another wide receiver commitment
After a fantastic month of recruiting in June, Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M football started off July with another blue-chip commitment from Jaylan Hornsby.
Hornsby is a 4 star 6’2” wide receiver from Winslow Township in New Jersey, and is rated as the 376th player overall and 5th overall player in New Jersey. In his junior season, he pulled in almost 20 yards per catch, with 23 receptions for 441, and 2 touchdowns.

At his size, Hornsby can catch the ball over almost anyone. His tape displays his enormous catch radius, and he has great vision for high pointing the ball. He loves the deep go route and can create good separation, but shows little on shorter routes, which may lead to route running being a skill yet to be completely refined. Hornsby also had very few points to match his yardage, only scoring two touchdowns, but having a 4 star rating with the stats from last season, college scouts obviously see a lot of potential in him.

Hornsby committed to Texas A&M football over Penn State, who he had in his final 2, but also held offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, and Oregon. With his commitment, the Aggies have moved to the 12th overall in the 2024 class, with 15 commitments and an average player rating of 90.61. Compared to last year, where the Aggies took only 18 players out of high school overall, Jimbo Fisher appears to be preparing for another massive recruiting haul for this class.
Jimbo Fisher has been putting up a great few weeks on the recruiting front, bringing in over half of the total class in the past three weeks, and jumping almost 30 spots while doing so. Because of player to player connections, each commitment has been as huge for momentum and each commit can be used to bring in more guys. As recruiting has begun to amp up, Jimbo Fisher has been on fire.
