Texas A&M recruiting has been on fire the past few weeks, and when it seemed like the smoke was starting to clear, a Fourth of July firework reignited the momentum.

On July 4th, Texas A&M football received a surprise commitment from 5-star wide receiver Cameron Coleman. Coleman had previously been predicted to commit to Auburn, but there are reports from second-hand sources that A&M had held his commitment for a few weeks.

Coleman is the 3rd ranked receiver, 1st in the state of Alabama, and 11th overall player in the 2024 class. Listed at 6’3”, 180 pounds he has all the capabilities to become a fantastic player at the college level. His tape features a great number of high-point catches, where he towers over the defender, as well as great route running and vision. While preferring the long ball, Coleman also demonstrates the ability to stand tall through contact on shorter routes and keeps his legs moving until the whistle blows.

Coleman is a huge recruiting win for Texas A&M Football, perhaps their most impressive so far.  As the number 1 player in the state of Alabama, Auburn and Alabama were recruiting him extremely hard, but as the first school to offer Coleman a D1 scholarship, Texas A&M is the place he chose to call home.

Coleman is the 7th highest-rated player to ever commit to the Aggies, and if Texas A&M Football can hold onto his recruitment, he could be a huge piece in a fantastic receiver room for the 2024 season. His commitment also brings the 2024 class to the 9th best class overall, with huge momentum pieces added in the last month.

Here is a list of the 10 commitments Texas A&M received over the last month

  • June 14th 3-star Quarterback Miles O’Neill
  • June 22nd 4-star Tight end Eric Karner
  • June 22nd 4-star Linebacker Jordan Lockhart
  • June 23rd 3-star Interior Linemen Coen Echols
  • June 26th 4-star Offensive Tackle Weston Davis
  • June 27th 3-star Defensive Edge Gabriel Reliford
  • June 29th 4 star Wide Receiver Dre’lon Miller
  • June 30th 4-star Linebacker Tyanthony Smith
  • July 1st 4-star Wide Receiver Jaylan Hornsby
  • July 4th 5-star Wide Receiver Cameron Coleman

With football season under 2 months away, Jimbo Fisher has been setting up the Aggies for a great 2024 class after a down year in 2023. If Fisher can translate the recruiting wins to wins on the football field, the Aggies are trending in the right direction.
